Request your Certificate of Good Standing
Start with this one. It confirms your Massachusetts taxes are filed and paid, and it takes up to 48 hours to be ready, so requesting it first keeps us on schedule.
Already have one? Use it if the notice date is within the last 6 months and it shows your full legal name. Then skip to Step 2.
Can you log in to MassTaxConnect?
- Go to MassTaxConnect and log in with the business’s login.
- Click the More tab. Under Other Actions, choose Request a Certificate of Good Standing.
- Set Application Type to Certificate of Good Standing. Not the lien waiver or license release in the same list.
- Complete the form using your exact legal name, and click Submit.
- Go to the MassTaxConnect homepage. Do not log in.
- Find Request a Certificate of Good Standing under Businesses (it is also under Individuals; either works).
- Set Application Type to Certificate of Good Standing, complete the form with your exact legal name, and click Submit.
- Write down the 6-digit confirmation code and the email address you used. Without a login, it is the only way to download your certificate.
When asked for the reason for your request, select “Other.”
It is not emailed to you. Set a reminder for tomorrow. In Step 3 you will go back into MassTaxConnect and download it.
