For Massachusetts small business owners

You know your business inside out. Growing it is the part nobody taught you.

You are the one who built this. You are also the one doing sales, marketing, hiring and the work itself, usually on a budget that leaves nothing for outside help. SCALE UP is 50 hours of live training that hands you the plan, the marketing engine and the AI leverage you never had time to build, alongside other Massachusetts owners in the same position.

Eligible Massachusetts companies are reimbursed up to $15,000 a year through the state's Workforce Training Fund.

Sound familiar?

What growth actually feels like from your chair.

Revenue has flattened, and you are not sure why.

The same effort that got you here is not moving the number any more. You have tried things. Some worked for a quarter. Nothing compounds.

The costAnother year of running hard and landing in the same place.
Marketing spends money and does not bring leads.

A website, some ads, a newsletter, maybe an agency. No one can tell you which part is working, so you cannot decide what to stop or double down on.

The costA pipeline that depends on referrals and luck.
There is no written plan, so every call is a judgment call.

The strategy lives in your head. Your team cannot act on it, and you spend the week reacting instead of building.

The costA team waiting on you for decisions you do not have time to make.
You wear every hat, and the growth hat comes last.

Sales, marketing, hiring, service, invoicing. The work that grows the business is the work that gets pushed to a weekend that never comes.

The costThe business stays the size of what you personally can carry.
The budget for outside help is not there.

A marketing agency is five figures a year. A fractional CMO is more. Neither leaves your team any better at this than they were before.

The costYou keep paying for output instead of building capability.
AI is one more thing you are behind on.

You know it should be saving you hours. So far it has been a tool your team opens occasionally and a nagging sense that competitors are further ahead.

The costHours a week you never get back.

None of this is a work ethic problem. Nobody hands a small business owner a growth system.

You learned your trade, then the business grew to the edge of what instinct can run. Past that point, growth is not about working harder. It is about having a written plan, a marketing engine that feeds itself, and leverage on your own time.

The path

Three steps, and you stop guessing.

1

Book a 15-minute call

We talk about where your growth is stuck and whether the program fits. If it does not, I will tell you.

2

We handle the funding together

If you qualify, we complete the state grant application on a short call. Most companies pay nothing out of pocket in the end.

3

You build the plan in the room

Five modules, 50 hours, live. You work on your own business in every session and leave with finished plans, not notes.

01

Strategic Planning

10 hours

Answers "there is no written plan." You leave with a one-year strategic growth plan, your USP, core values and a view of your competitive position.

02

Building Your Team

10 hours

Answers "everything runs through me." Hiring, culture, accountability and the practices that let your team make decisions without you in the room.

03

Marketing Strategy

10 hours

Answers "marketing does not bring leads." Buyer personas, messaging, differentiation and a written one-year marketing plan tied to your growth goal.

04

Lead Generation

10 hours

Answers "our pipeline is referrals and luck." Your website, SEO, content library, outbound and the customer story that makes your buyer the hero.

05

AI for Growth

10 hours

Answers "I am behind on AI." Prompting, agents and applying AI to the plans you just built, so one owner can do the work of a bigger team.

What changes

The same business, run a different way.

Where most owners start

  • The plan lives in your head
  • Marketing spend you cannot measure
  • Leads arrive when someone remembers you
  • Every decision waits for you
  • AI is something you keep meaning to learn

Where you finish

  • A written one-year growth plan your team can run
  • A marketing plan with owners, budgets and metrics
  • A lead generation engine you control
  • A team working from the same scorecard
  • AI doing hours of your week, on your plans

And if nothing changes? The plan stays in your head, the next quarter looks like the last one, and the growth work keeps moving to a weekend that never comes. That is the real cost, and it is quiet enough to ignore for years.

$15,000In allotted Massachusetts training funds, each calendar year
About that budget

The state already set money aside for this.

Every Massachusetts employer pays into the Workforce Training Fund through its unemployment insurance filings. Through the Express Grant, eligible companies can be reimbursed up to $15,000 a year for training. SCALE UP is built to fit inside that, and we complete the application with you.

  • Up to 100% reimbursed
  • 1 W-2 employee is enough
  • Application done with you
Common questions

What owners ask before they start.

Who is SCALE UP for?

Owners, CEOs and senior managers of Massachusetts small businesses, typically with 5 to 100 employees, who want to grow and do not have a written plan or an in-house marketing team. You do not need a marketing background. Every framework is taught in plain language and applied to your own business in the session.

How much time does it take?

50 hours of live training across five modules, taught in half-day sessions over roughly ten weeks. The Winter 2027 cohort runs January 19 to April 1, 2027, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:30 PM ET.

What do I actually leave with?

Finished documents, not notes: a one-year strategic growth plan, buyer personas, a one-year marketing plan, a lead generation plan, a content calendar and a 90-day implementation roadmap, built from more than 25 templates you keep and reuse.

What does it cost?

Each of the five modules is priced to sit inside the state's Express Grant limits, and the five together match the $15,000 annual cap. For eligible Massachusetts employers, that means the program is typically reimbursed in full. We confirm your eligibility on the first call.

Do I qualify for the grant?

Most Massachusetts employers with 100 or fewer W-2 employees and a physical location in the state do. One W-2 employee attending is enough to secure the reimbursement, and owners count if they are on W-2 payroll. We check this with you before you commit to anything.

I am busy. What if I miss a session?

Sessions are live so you can ask about your own situation in real time. If something comes up, you get the materials and a one-to-one catch-up with Chris rather than a recording and a shrug.

How is this different from hiring an agency?

An agency does the work and keeps the know-how. SCALE UP builds the capability inside your business: your plans, your templates, your team running them after the program ends.
